I think I'm ready but what exactly am I committing to?
THIS IS NOT YOUR AVERAGE “DIET”- BUT THAT’S WHY IT WORKS. You must be physically and psychologically prepared to commit to our plan. There are opportunities for “date nights” but we encourage you to make as many meals ass possible at home and be willing to make modifications when dining out. Don’t worry- we give you recipes and ideas to make it livable! We strongly encourage clearing your calendar of major social commitments and travel for the first ten days. While not a “cleanse” in the traditional sense, the first ten days are the most rigorous and we want you set up for success. It is difficult to properly navigate the first ten days (RESET) if you have travel or social obligations.
DAILY COMMITMENTS THROUGHOUT THE PROGRAM INCLUDE:
- Provide your weight daily
- Share all meals, drinks and snacks
- Exercise 3-4 times each week and provide proof of workout. Workouts can be whatever moves your body and brings you joy- walking counts. While exercise is important for mental and cardiovascular health and reducing the risk of disease, the majority of your success relies upon adherence to the dietary portion of the program.
- Being in proactive communication with your coach via text throughout the day
We are happy to discuss the commitments in-depth, simply contact us at hello@sugarsnapshift.com
How Much Weight Can I Expect to Lose?
We can never guarantee results, and the biggest factor in your success is your willingness to fully adhere to the program and commitments. That said, we have helped clients to lose anywhere from five pounds to over 85 lbs. Our average amount lost is 19.7 lbs. You set your own goals when you sign up, our only request is that your target weight fall within CDC guidelines for a healthy BMI. Our clients who are the most successful do the following things
- experiment with new foods and the recipes we provide
- are thorough, accurate and honest in reporting their food and workouts and are proactive in their communication with us
- don't make us chase them down for check ins
- have the active support of family and friends
- meal prep on weekends, and plan ahead for the week bring food to social events and when traveling
- exercise in a way that is varied and enjoyable (walks, spin, yoga, toning)
- abstain from alcohol or limit to 2 drinks or fewer per week
Most clients see a more significant loss the first week which slows to a more sustainable rate as the program continues. After that, we typically look for a loss of one to two pounds per week as a healthy and sustainable rate.
I'm not into cooking. Do I have to spend hours meal prepping?
If you like to cook, great! We give tons of recipes and ideas for delicious, easy-to-prepare foods your whole family will enjoy. Clients who experiment with recipes at home tend to have the most enjoyable and successful experience.
That said, we have had MANY clients who barely cooked beyond scrambling a few eggs. We can help you navigate healthy take out and leverage prepared foods at the grocery store to make meal prep a breeze!
All clients receive supplemental materials including our Dining Guide, Travel Guide, Easy Meal Prep guide and webinar and Holiday recipe guides. If you need to order in, or head out for dinner just send your coach the menu in advance and we will help you with modifications and suggestion for what to order.
I travel a lot, have a packed social calendar and business dinners. How does that work with your program?
The vast majority of our clients travel extensively for work or pleasure, and eat out multiple times a week. We help you navigate every type of social situation by providing a dining out guide, strategies to navigate parties, and ways to manage cravings and social food pressure.
Have a dinner out? Just text your coach the menu in advance and we will provide you with options of things to order, and appropriate modifications.
This is all over text? You don't do calls or meetings?
Yes, it's all over text, and we know that sounds strange at first. We do schedule an introductory call to get to know you prior to sign up, and we conduct regular webinars where you can see and hear from your coaches and ask questions live.
That said, our coaching is done exclusively over text and email. Why? A few reasons- one it enables us to communicate with clients much more frequently and during high-volume times like meals and weigh ins. It also gives you, the client, a visual record of your meals and our feedback for them.
We pride ourselves on providing our clients with a rich education about the impact food has on their health and the "why" behind our program. Text allows us to quickly send you links to recipes, articles and other materials that may be helpful.
I have a medical condition, can you work with me?
In many circumstances, we can accommodate clients with medical concerns. We evaluate this on a case-by-case basis, so please contact us to discuss your specific condition.
We do not accept clients who are or may be pregnant, have an eating disorder or related mental or behavioral health problem, or any other unmanaged physical, psychological, or emotional condition that would present any risk.
Minor injuries, past surgeries, or other ailments where exercise or dietary modification is possible can typically be accommodated.
Though your program materials are under a Non-Disclosure Agreement and may not be shared, your NDA does not apply to your medical providers and we actively encourage you to consult your physician prior to beginning this or any nutrition program. Again, we are not medical professionals and do not diagnose, treat or manage any disease.
I'm on A GLP-1 Medication. How does this help me?
Our program is a great compliment to clients on a GLP-1 medication. It's also a great fit for those clients looking to successfully transition off of GLP-1 medications without regaining weight they've lost.
Our NDA does not apply to your medical providers and we actively encourage you to review the program with them to learn how it is an important component of your weight loss journey.
What Kind of Food is This? Is It Something I'm Familiar with Like Keto or Plant Based?
Our proprietary REAL Phase system is based upon eating real, whole foods as nature intended- primarily plants and organic, lean protein. We largely avoid processed food, refined sugars and refined carbohydrates and other inflammatory, weight gaining foods.
Our program is not plant-based, but it is plant-forward, meaning we encourage clients to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. There is NO calorie or maco counting and most vegetables are unlimited in every phase.
Certain food groups are avoided but we provide plenty of options and variety to make it interesting! It is most closely related to a paleo diet, but is in a phased approach that is designed to optimize weight loss.
Do I need to Live near you? Are there meetings or calls?
Nope! Our coaching is 100% virtual so we work with clients all over the United States. We do all our daily coaching over email and text. We have found this is the most effective way to be responsive and in constant contact with our clients. We are available to clients via text 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We also hold frequent webinars, which are available for download if you are unable to attend.
Please note we only work with clients in the United States at this time.
Do I have Support 24 hours a day?
We respond to clients seven days a week from morning until evening, including weekends.
That said, we are not a call center or robots- our business is built on real coaches assigned to you who know you and monitor you throughout your journey. You can text us at any hour. We check in throughout the day, multiple times a day, but do not respond in real time. No one meal is anyone's undoing, and if you make a mistake we help you adjust next time!
Woah. This is a lot of money! Is it worth it?
Absolutely. Over 85% of our clients opt to renew at the end of their program, with many clients staying with us for months, and even years of support. Over 95% of our business is from referrals- friends who have been inspired by the success our clients have had.
For less than $25 a day, you can have the tools and support you need for a lifetime of looking and feeling your best.
I have dietary restrictions. Can you Work with me?
We can work with all dietary restrictions (celiac, lactose intolerant, pescatarian, kosher, vegetarian and vegan) , so contact us if you have a specific need.
How Many Clients do you work with?
This varies based off time of year, but each coach has a dedicated group they work with. We strictly limit the number of new clients who start each week, as they typically need more focus and help at the beginning of their program.
What exactly is a coach and how is it different from a dietician?
A coach supports clients who have already expressed a desire to lose weight or adopt healthier habits. We do not screen or diagnose weight, nutrition or medical issues.
A coach is someone who:
- Understands the fundamental principles of weight loss physiology and the various factors that can influence weight.
- Provides advice and guidance as to changes a client can make to their diet and exercise routine.
- Supports clients in the day to day adherence to healthy eating programs and positive behavior change
- Appreciate the complexities that may arise with weight loss and understands a client's unique bio individuality
- Acts as an advisor, cheerleader, and support system
- Knows when to refer a client to other professionals for assistance when appropriate
Our coaches hold various certifications, credentials and degrees, as indicated in their bios, but we are not medical professionals or state licensed dietitians. Our support and advice does not take the place of proper medical care. Our NDA does not apply to your physicians and we actively encourage you to review our program with them.
What Sort of Payment Options Do You Offer?
We accept most forms of payment including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, and PayPal. We also can accept payments via ACH bank transfer if you prefer.
We bill our programs monthly, with the option to cancel anytime after the initial commitment period of 8 or 12 weeks. After your initial program most clients continue on a month to month basis at a 20% discounted rate.
While we do not offer refunds, we do allow clients who need to pause their program for medical or personal emergencies to "bank" unused days and resume at any point within 6 months.
We offer referral bonuses to clients who refer their friends, lower rates for couples who join together and multi-month payment discounts for clients who are on ongoing monthly support. Contact us for more details.
